They are the rising stars of the international Baroque scene, breathing new life into centuries-old compositions. With dazzling virtuosity and a fresh perspective, they transform every note into a vibrant firework, as if the music were composed just yesterday.
Since 2015, they have performed together as “Le Consort”: harpsichordist Justin Taylor, an American-French protégé of Blandine Ranou; violinists Théotime Langlois de Swarte, a member of William Christie’s “Les Arts Florissants” family, and Sophie de Bardonnèche, a student of Amandine Beyer at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis; and cellist Hanna Salzenstein, who trained with Raphaël Pidoux in Paris. At their stop in Rougemont, they will be joined by another Baroque luminary, someone with a longstanding friendship with Gstaad Menuhin Festival & Academy: the incomparable recorder virtuoso Maurice Steger.
