Prof. Maurice Steger talks, discusses, and plays with students about Antonio Vivaldi and his era. The recorder was a popular instrument in 18th-century Venice and was celebrated for its virtuosity as well as its lovely tone color.
In this workshop, we will play excerpts from Vivaldi’s instrumental works and try to apply interpretative rules and change and improve our playing style with background information from the professor.
All instruments are welcome to participate. Please be sure to bring your instruments and sheet music samples! The goal is not only to play the Flautino Concerto, but also to get to know this fantastic music with many audio samples.
