The La Cetra Baroque Orchestra Basel embarks on a small three-country tour with Maurice Steger, presenting a new program with the two protagonists Georg Philipp Telemann and Johann Sebastian Bach. The delightful and humorous Double Concerto for Recorder and Bassoon opens the program, with the Ricercar from the Musical Offering and Bach’s large-scale Solo Concerto BWV 1053 the journey continues, ending with the Harpsichord Concerto BWV 1057, which is an arrangement of the 4th Brandenuburg Concerto, in which two recorders form the charming Concertino.
And in between there are some geographical stations that Telemann so wonderfully invented for the concerto venues. How does Lower Saxony, Austria, Bavaria or Switzerland sound. There will be surprises.
